This piece is the first story I wrote that is curated and published unless I included a poem in my high school’s literary magazine many years ago. When I joined Medium, I used it as a cloud drive to store lyrics I had written over the years. That, and then my life changed after meeting mentors like yourself in what feels like a group of extended family.
