On Being Mindful
a place of lore named Lovesafepeace
Love, safety, and peace are a mindful life’s triumphant trilogy. But, it’s one thing to say the words and another, while in the same instant, to understand how you feel and then choose a course of action based on mindful intent.
I’ve spent the more significant part of my life pursuing goals while all I needed was something more straightforward. Of course, dreams are a must-have, but I want to understand and integrate the aforementioned mindful concepts to live the moment better.
Logical intelligence is rational, whereas corresponding emotional intelligence is context based on intuition and senses. Oft-times I focus only on one but together, they can be a potent compound that nurtures sincere communication. Imagine a world of people fluent in expressing love, safety, and peace. It does seem like a stretch, but anything that can be imagined is a real possibility. On a personal level, striving to be mindful in the moment can be a rewarding journey, even if others around you are occupied with emulating the likes of ancient Sisyphus.
In truth, learning to speak the language of love is always humanity’s final frontier.
When I’m being mindful, my breath is a conveyance to a place of lore named Lovesafepeace. When I arrive, I find it’s simply me. It’s my safe, peaceful, loving home of refuge. For some, it’s been a dissociative escape to safety when the usual coarse friction of their world suddenly morphed into an intolerable abuse. I’ve experienced that, and it took too long till I realized it was saving grace, not shameful or frightening to recall, only necessary. Some who read this piece will know what I mean. But, for whatever reason I go there, when I leave, I want to bring the combined rational feeling back with me—wishing to share the language of it with you.
