Kudos to Neil Young

The phrase “stop and smell the roses” is better framed in a different era. A time of vacuum tube delineations, absent the bandwidth to support a twenty-four-hour news cycle and the latest addition to our conscious tapestry, these tireless global social networks, composed predominantly of binary bullshit.

There was a place to escape – shelter from our social storm.

Nowadays, we realize we’re always plugged in, eerily aware that even when you try to tune out, technology ensures you’re always tuned in. I have no escape phrases to offer. Just an occasional wish that a proverbial Clubber Lang would show up to knock me into tomorrow if not out.

Kudos to Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Nils Lofgren, and others for choosing to change the shape of our reality into something of somewhat better awareness.
