I’m Not Comfortable in Humanity’s Skin
Human beings embarked, and despite defaulting to various gods, we invented calculus and quantum theory. We conquered polio without the aid of a PC and walked on the moon using far less computer than what’s contained in a cell phone.
Then the emergence of the silicon empire and the mantra; put a computer in every home. Today billions of us hold the key to knowledge, wisdom, and power in the palm of our hands. We should be fucking wizards by now, but like a third world country that turns postal boxes into trash bins, we waste our clever tools in pursuit of pleasure and debate.
It turns out a ship of fools embarked. As a species, we didn’t take stewardship seriously. Freedom is a right that is earned through responsibility. I’m afraid we‘ve become Mother Nature’s band of mutineers and vigilante enforcers of what we think we know about each other’s souls. I’m not feeling comfortable in humanity’s skin.
