I love this image; it's genius, Sheri. It's easy, probably instinctual, to wear our past as if it defines us and makes us feel comfortable. We are content as it becomes habitual plumage, but it doesn't redeem or protect us when we are caught off guard or miss a chance because we are unaware of where we are in nature's presence. That you chose “mottled” in this piece floors me, it's brilliant.
