For several years I've hand fed the rabbits that visit my backyard. I feed birds and squirrels too. They were all I intended to feed but I've noticed that a result of feeding them is that I feed mice and rats, among other things. I've worked up to wanting to feed the rats along side the rabbits since they now come out and get what I leave on the ground. I'm a little freaked that I see progress as wanting to get to know a rat. I guess it's just another process I need to figure out.
