I hear you about time and memories. I do my best to categorize time as a tool and not fall into portraying it as being a thing that controls us. Sometimes, I use the word ‘change’ as a substitute. Artificial intelligence applications are tools, and so are rocks. So is time and space.
And I agree memories heal us in paradoxical ways. They allow us to edit the now.
No one sees that rainbow you see. Not even the person standing next to you. What we see has physical dependencies. Height, angle, the humidity in our line of sight, unique biology, etc., fashion what we perceive as a rainbow. All perspectives are unique. What the person (in the present) standing next to us sees in a rainbow is due to their current physical dependence. The two of you in the present know a pair of rainbows. The difference is there (it exists), but it's so slight at that moment so as to be inconceivable. But memories are different. They are subject to change, naturally. The moment shared by the two in the present is not remembered the same way twice. I think the same reasoning applies to our private memories. I was stunned recently. I was writing back and forth to my closest friend from when we were in high school. We talked about a very vivid experience we shared in 1971. His account was totally different than mine. To the point where he said he did things I believed I did. Our characters replaced each other. I didn't pursue it with him; I was so blown away. Where we once had harmony became distorted, now ripe with conflict over what occurred.
Yet, personally, how I think of memory has given me leeway to get beyond my past. Like you, it's a nurturing process.
Yes, in the present, I lean toward practicality. To avoid headaches! I try to give thoughts and feelings equal consideration. So they may as well be the same. Ha, my way of covering all the bases.
Yep, to Star Trek! I like the Next Generation the best, but they all have wonderful moments.
Your pursuit of recognizing hate is a noble and inspiring labor of love, Jenny. I agree love and hate seem to be derived from the same atom. Energy (change): is nature's fission doing the splitting? No wonder Atomic Fusion is such a tough nut to crack. You are on the cutting edge of your skill set and talent to have undertaken your journey. I'm amazed by you. Thank you so much for sharing your world with me.
