Having forced myself to sit and think I can’t help but wonder if giants of the now long gone, porous 24-hour news cycle; names like Cronkite or Winchell would be proud of our accomplishment or appalled.

The twenty-twenties
deluges of anti-social funk.
Concussive chaos
massive body blows of junk.
Incessant alarm fused
to the twenty-four-hour news cycle,
heaps of the ether’s binary bullshit pile.

Why not a story of graceful beings
reaching out with undemanding care?
Instead of an epic collective mirror
reflecting humanity’s baleful glare.
In all things we create,
let wisdom take the fore.
Savor humane passions
that do not sue for more.
