I am
loathe to sleep I cower
before your forlorn veil.
You are blinding as
pitch-black darkness.

I am
unwilling to muster thoughts
that soothe the chaos you petition.
You’ve become a demon
in mesmerizing disguise.

I am
succumbing to the numb comprehension
of a being minus you.
You are lost to I
void all senses.

I am
nakedly ashamed of the ease
with which you wield your blissful sleep.
Your dreams of liberation are
chained to my demise.

I am
entombed in haunted affirmations
each breath of life inters another coffin.
You are piously disencumbered of all care
my dread being what you deem fair.

A piece about that initial feeling of being ghosted by someone you love: it happens in many ways but please know a facet of stories like these include the possibility a clean break is necessary.

And, after all, it’s October.

Now dissecting thoughts and emotions, pinning words, then commentary to the facets, curating and sharing them as legends of my being. Then they’re on their own.
