nefarious alibis.
American citizens have no problem identifying societal mishaps, and many of us care to hustle up concern and attach hypotheses as to their cause. We invent both crazy and perfectly plausible theories, but regardless of the truth, the mishaps exist, and they are allowed to propagate. At the same time, the contention (not the problem) about our hypothetical causes becomes the never-to-be-resolved issue.
Hence, we become mired in tragedy and its trauma. As a nation, we want and need remedies, but instead, we fall victim to people who have finagled power and oppose the will of the people.
Why is that?
It’s because it’s the way powerful politicians thrive. They employ the contention over an issue as a smoke-and-mirrors tactic to ensure the polarization of the electorate will keep them in power. Thus, Republicans vs. Democrats rather than mere representatives of the electorate fulfilling the will of the people. Which is a thing anyone can do.
