he reveled in their spoils

He appeared stoic, his lips staged in the familiar purse, eyes revealing his deviant and now desperate desire to bare his chest, just one more time, for the social media world to feel.

Even now, the former “Puppet Master” thought himself capable of winning hearts and minds by performing his signature twist of self-aggrandizing propaganda. “Anything goes,” he would bellow, whether raising a glass with his buddies in celebration or extorting them.

We will never know the extent of his war crimes and assassinations other than he reveled in their spoils.

That’s why there was no remorse offered or possible forgiveness ventured in the trial by his peers. Instead, the verdict of guilty, then the sentence of death, posed as if a quip by the victims of the unstable dupe, “all’s fair in love and war, Pootie Poot.”
